Okay, now that we've selected our items, you will work with your partner to complete ONE of the following tasks, which you will share with the class before we leave today.

Task One:
  • Go back to the wallwisher page. Wallwisher webpage
  • Decide which items the class should purchase. You are only allowed to purchase the 5 items you think are the most important AND a backpack.
  • Go back to theschool supplies store. Top-Office - Les Fournitures Scolaires
  • "Purchase" a back back and the items selected by the class. (by purchase, I mean put them in the basket.)
  • Find out the total cost for these items.
  • go to Euro Dollar convertor
  • Determine how much money the class needs to raise to purchase these items.
  • Write a note to the class on this "Today's Meet" explaining IN FRENCH what items your group is choosing and why. Then explain how much the total cost is in both Euros and in Dollars and say that we need that amount of the money. Please write you numbers out in French in the note. .Share here on Today's Meet

Task Two
  • With your group members, create a recording on vocaroo saying hi to the student to whom we are sending the items.
  • In your recording, do the following:
    • introduce yourselves.
    • Give your names and ages and state that you are students at Northwood in French B.
    • Explain in French that we are sending him a backpack and explain why.
    • Tell him what is in the backpack and explain what the items might be useful for.
    • Wish him a good school year. (Ayez une bonne année à l'école!)
  • Write a note in Today's Meet to your class asking them to listen to your recording to see how it sounds before we send it off. Copy the html of your recording into the today's meet page. Share here on Today's Meet

Task Three
  • The class has decided that we want to buy our student 2 outfits and a pair of shoes he can wear to school. He is 6 years old (first grade). Go to Galleries Lafayette
  • Pick 2 outfits and a pair of shoes.
  • Total the price in Euros. Then go to the following convertor to figure out how much money we need to raise to purchase these items.

  • Write a note to the class on this "Today's Meet" explaining IN FRENCH what you are choosing and why. Then say the class is going to buy "On va acheter" how much the total cost is in both Euros and in Dollars and say that we need that amount of the money.Share here on Today's Meet

Your task today, in your group, is to find 5 pictures on google images that you can describe. Each sentence must include the following language structures:
  1. a correctly conjugated IR verb (use a different IR verb for each of your five pictures)
  2. a complex sentence (meaning it's more than just simple subject and verb... consider who, what, when, where, why)
  3. a subject that is not a simple subject pronoun (meaning not I, You, He, but rather, the boy, the girl, the student, the teacher)
  4. correct French language structures (no Franglais!)

For each picture, please go to this wallwisher site and do the following. WallWisher Website
(see below for an example)
  1. Put your group members' names in the post
  2. Put the link of the picture in the html box
  3. Write your sentence in the sticky note.
  4. create a new sticky note for each picture.

1. Go to the online textbook and enter the online textbook code.

2. Under the RESOURCES tab, click on "LiIstening Activities" (The column that is blue in the image below.)

3. Do NOT download Unit 4. Instead, click on Unité 4, Activité 1, listen to the activity, and answer the questions on the worksheet, and then click on Unité 4, Activité 2, and do that exercise. You may listen to the activity as many times as you want. This exercise will be graded and is an INDIVIDUAL activity.

4. Once completed, hand in the worksheet to Madame Young. Don't forget to put your name on it!

5. If there is still time in your group at the computers, you may go to any of the activities under "Le 21 septembre."
